Risking Everything: Join us for the launch of our latest research

You are invited to join us on Tuesday 11th June 2019 from 7.30am in Auckland for the launch of Risking Everything, the latest research undertaken with over 2000 New Zealanders by Horizon on behalf of the Financial Services Council. It delves into how New Zealanders think about risk, how they think about mitigating it and how they manage the potential impacts.

Risking Everything: Delve into the top ten findings
  • Managing, assessing and mitigating risk
  • Thinking about financial risk
  • Acknowledging financial risk and knowing how to manage the potential impacts
  • Likelihood of financial risk
  • Managing risk
  • Insuring for longer term risk
  • Household income and attitude to risk
  • Awareness, usage and consideration of personal risk products to mitigate risks
  • Main reasons for being under-insured
  • Activities undertaken to assess financial risk

This, a first in a series of research, helps to identify the key risks that New Zealanders perceive will affect their personal finances, how often they think about it, managing for short-term and longer term risk, identifying reasons why New Zealander’s are underinsured and where we get our advice.

The risking everything launch is a breakfast event in the Auckland CBD, where the FSC will introduce the new research and a panel of experts will debate the findings, attitudes to risk in New Zealand and challenges going forward.
