The Future of Tax: Insight from the Tax Working Group

Presentations now available from The Future of Tax Breakfast Event held on 10 October 2018 in PwC Auckland

The Tax Working Group (TWG) has been established by the Government in order to examine further improvements in the structure, fairness and balance of the tax system, the Future of Tax in New Zealand. The Tax Working Group issued the Future of Tax interim report on 20 September 2018. The final report is due to be published by the Tax Working Group in February 2019.

During the breakfast event, Geof Nightingale, Partner at PwC and member of the group, updated attendees on the progress of the Tax Working Group, followed by an open discussion on the options with Matthew Hanley (EY) and Richard Cox (Westpac), the co-chairs of the FSC's Tax Advisory Group. Wellington Future of Tax Events

There were two further events held in Wellington, the first was a Consultation with the New Zealand Government's Tax Working Group on Thursday 11 October 2018 in conjunction with EY Wellington. Casey Plunket and TWG member Robin Oliver were on the panel.

The second was held in conjunction with Deloitte and was a Roundtable on Implications for the Superannuation and Savings Industry on Wednesday 17 October 2018 at Deloitte Wellington.
